Hi-City Trading Sdn Bhd (HCT) started its operation as Jelutong Pharmacy Sdn Bhd in 1985, engaging in the retail business serving the community in Penang, Malaysia.

In the year 1990, the company ceased its retail business and changed its name to Hi-City Trading Sdn Bhd and became the sole distributor of OTC products from Camden Industries, and also involved in distribution of some herbal products imported from India.

In 1995, as the ownership of Camden Industries changed hand, HCT lost the sole distributorship of Camden Industries’ OTC products.  In the same period, the Drug Control Authority (DCA) of Malaysia started the herbal products registration process. The herbal products from India were found to be unstable and unable to fulfill the requirement of the DCA and the agency was eventually given up.

Following this, HCT began distributing bath room amenities produced by Hi-City Manufacturing Berhad, to various hotels in Malaysia. This has turned out to become HCT’s main business activity. Over the years HCT build up its reputation as a trading company that is able to work with its customers to provide them with fast and efficient services and products with quality that meets or exceeds their needs.

In 2004, HCT was incorporated into Hi-City Bioscience Group Berhad, a Second Board public listed company with subsidiaries involved in the manufacturing of personal care products for domestic and international markets.
